INFO: High Impact Journals

Journal Citation Reports (JCR)® offers a systematic, objective means to critically evaluate the world's leading journals, with quantifiable, statistical information based on citation data. By compiling articles' cited references, JCR Web helps to measure research influence and impact at the journal and category levels, and shows the relationship between citing and cited journals. JCR tracks a limited number of journals and produces an impact factor for each journal. These journals are called high impact journals. An impact factor is a measure of the frequency with which the average article in a journal has been cited in a particular year.

JCR impact factor The JCR provides quantitative tools for ranking, evaluating, categorizing, and comparing journals. The impact factor is one of these; it is a measure of the frequency with which the "average article" in a journal has been cited in a particular year or period. The annual JCR impact factor is a ratio between citations and recent citable items published.

The SCImago Journal & Country Rank is a portal that includes the journals and country scientific indicators developed from the information contained in the Scopus® database (Elsevier B.V.). These indicators can be used to assess and analyze scientific domains.

The Citation Index is a kind of bibliographic database, an index of citations between publications, allowing the user to easily establish which later documents cite which earlier documents. Thomson Reuters produce Science Citation Index (SCI) and Social Science Citation Index (SSCI) and Elsevier produce Scopus as their largest abstract and citation database. Malaysian Citation Index (MyCite) provides access to bibliographic and citation information from scholarly literature published in Malaysian journals, conference proceedings, chapters in books and theses in the sciences, technology, medicine, social sciences and the Humanities.
